About Christopher P.

Christopher P. Perry earned his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2013. He completed both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in criminal justice at the City University of New York’s John Jay College of Criminal Justice in 2009. That combination of graduate and professional training shapes the way he approaches courtroom work and case preparation.

After law school, Perry gained admission to practice in New Jersey and joined the State Bar of New Jersey as an active member. His legal education is complemented by specialized training in law-enforcement procedures. He holds a certification as a Standardized Field Sobriety Test Administrator from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, a credential that informs his handling of impaired-driving matters.

Perry serves at the New Jersey Office of the Public Defender. In that role he represents clients facing criminal charges across the state. His work involves client interviews, pretrial motions, and courtroom appearances. He has regular contact with judges, prosecutors, and police agency personnel as part of preparing defenses and advocating for clients.

Courtroom work is a consistent element of his practice. He handles hearings and trials, negotiates pleas, and pursues motions aimed at protecting clients’ rights. He aims to assess the factual record and applicable law carefully before advising clients on options. That measured approach reflects both his academic background and his time in public defense.

The NHTSA field-sobriety certification is one of several qualifications he brings to impaired-driving cases. Perry applies that training when evaluating evidence gathered during traffic stops and arrests. He also keeps current with procedural and evidentiary developments affecting criminal prosecutions, and he participates in ongoing continuing legal education through bar activities.

Outside the courtroom, he maintains memberships in bar organizations that connect defense lawyers across New Jersey. Those professional ties provide a forum for discussion of practice issues and changes in criminal law. He balances case work with efforts to stay informed about legal practice and policing procedures.

He currently practices at the New Jersey Office of the Public Defender, handling criminal defense matters, including cases involving alleged impaired driving.
