About Christopher M.
Christopher M. Brine earned his J.D. from Quinnipiac University School of Law in 2007. He had previously completed a double Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science at Central Connecticut State University in 2003. Those academic years placed him at the intersection of historical context and institutional law, a background that informs how he evaluates consumer disputes today.
He is admitted to practice in both Massachusetts and Connecticut. Over the last decade he has built a practice centered on consumer matters and related bankruptcy work. His membership in the National Association of Consumer Advocates and the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Lawyers, both beginning in 2012, signals an interest in consumer rights and debt-related litigation that predates his later local bar involvements.
Beginning in 2016 he joined the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Worcester County Bar Association, and the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Lawyers. Those affiliations have kept him connected to statewide developments in civil procedure, trial practice, and consumer protection rules. He has used those forums to stay current on case law and procedural changes that affect client options in both negotiated and contested matters.
Brine operates Brine Consumer Law. The firm handles a range of matters for individuals dealing with collection actions, creditor disputes, and consumer protection claims. Casework combines counseling to explore options and, when necessary, litigation to assert client rights. He balances filings, motion practice and court appearances with attempts to reach negotiated resolutions when that is in a client’s interest.
Colleagues describe him as practical in approach. He tends to break complex billing and statutory schemes into plain terms for clients. In hearings he focuses on the factual record and on making concise legal arguments rather than on theatrical presentation. Outside the courtroom he maintains the professional memberships that have shaped his practice over time.
He continues to maintain active memberships in both national consumer law organizations and state bar groups, a network that informs how he evaluates claims and defenses. His current practice focuses on consumer protection and bankruptcy matters.
