About Christopher L.

Christopher L. Lufrano trained first in the sciences of markets and later in the law. He earned a B.S. from Boston University in 2001 and continued his studies at the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University, receiving his J.D. in 2007. Those degrees set the stage for a career that crosses the boundary between finance and legal practice.

Before entering law school, Lufrano spent time in the trading room. In 2005 he worked as a fixed income trader at Morgan Stanley & Co. That early work in the financial markets exposed him to the rhythms of trading desks, the structure of debt instruments and the pressures of fast-moving markets. It was a practical education in capital markets that would later inform his approach to legal problems.

After law school he moved into private practice. He served as an associate at Napoli Bern Ripka Shkolnik, LLP in 2011, gaining experience in client representation and case management. In 2013 he worked at Cahill Gordon & Reindel LLP, where he practiced as a lawyer in a firm known for its handling of complex corporate and financial matters. Those years at established firms added institutional experience to the market background he had brought from Wall Street.

Lufrano is admitted to practice in New York and Illinois. That dual admission reflects a practice that crosses regional lines and serves clients who operate in more than one jurisdiction. Over time his career has moved from trading to representation, blending an understanding of markets with the mechanics of legal advocacy and advice.

He now practices at Lufrano Law, LLC. The firm presents a compact platform for his legal work, allowing him to take on matters that draw on both his market experience and his years in law firms. Colleagues and clients see him as someone who understands both the technicalities of financial instruments and the demands of legal process.

His work style is straightforward. He assesses a client’s situation, identifies the legal and financial dimensions and frames practical options. The path from Morgan Stanley to law school, then through large firms to a smaller practice, has given him a varied professional toolkit. His current practice concentrates on legal issues at the intersection of finance and business.
