About Christopher James
Christopher James Greeley built a scholarly foundation before entering the legal profession. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Massachusetts–Boston in 2002, completing a rare triple major in historic preservation, political science and philosophy, and taking a minor in law. He went on to Suffolk University Law School and received his J.D. in 2007, where he pursued coursework in construction law.
Greeley joined the Massachusetts bar soon after graduating. He has been a member of the Massachusetts State Bar since 2007. Federal admissions followed: he was admitted to the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts in 2008 and to the United States District Court for the District of Vermont in 2010. Those admissions allowed him to handle matters in both state and federal forums.
He began his post-bar practice in the Boston area. In 2008 he worked at Monahan & Associates, P.C., taking on matters that touched on construction and related disputes. In 2017 he moved to McGowan & Associates, where his roster included contractor clients and parties involved in construction litigation. In 2023 he joined Moriarty Bielan & Molloy, LLC and continues to practice in Massachusetts.
Greeley combines legal training with construction-industry credentials. He holds an Unrestricted MACS Construction Supervisor certification from the Massachusetts Department of Public Safety. He also maintains OSHA certification from the U.S. Department of Labor. Those qualifications come into play when he handles contract interpretation, job-site issues, and regulatory compliance questions tied to building projects.
His work spans litigation, contract counseling and regulatory proceedings. He represents contractors, subcontractors and owners in disputes over delays, defect claims and payment issues. He also advises on contract drafting and risk allocation, assisting clients who must translate technical project realities into enforceable legal terms.
Colleagues and clients see him as a practitioner grounded in both law and the practical demands of construction projects. He has remained based in Massachusetts throughout his career and continues to take on matters in state and federal courts where admitted. He currently concentrates on construction law matters, representing clients in disputes, contract work and regulatory issues.
