About Christopher Edward

Christopher Edward Stoy built his legal foundation in Texas. He earned a J.D. from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 2010 after completing undergraduate studies in political science at Texas A&M University in 2006. Those years set the stage for a career spent largely in the courtroom and at the counsel table.

He began his professional path at Brackett & Ellis, P.C., joining as an associate in 2010. Early work there gave him exposure to litigated matters and daily courtroom practice. In 2013 he moved to Eberstein & Witherite, where he continued to handle contested cases and sharpen trial skills. A year later he became a partner at Hutchison & Stoy, PLLC, a role he has held since 2014.

Stoy is admitted to practice in Texas and is also admitted before the U.S. Supreme Court. Those credentials reflect steady progression from state-level practice to the national bar. Over the years he has balanced casework with leadership in legal organizations. He served on the board of the Texas Young Lawyers Association from 2010 to 2016. He led the Tarrant County Young Lawyers Association as president from 2011 to 2015. Since 2013 he has been a director of the Tarrant County Trial Lawyers Association.

The association roles put him in regular contact with trial lawyers and local courts. They also meant overseeing programming, mentoring younger attorneys, and taking part in professional governance. That civic and professional engagement runs parallel to his case docket.

Colleagues describe him as someone who prefers clear, direct advocacy. He favors preparing cases for trial and resolving disputes through contested hearings when necessary. His practice has a steady orientation toward litigation and courtroom work rather than transactional matters.

Outside court hours he has stayed involved in bar activities and local legal groups. That involvement has kept him connected to changes in trial practice and to the networks that support civil litigation in his region.

He currently practices at Hutchison & Stoy, PLLC, where his work centers on trial and litigation matters.
