About Christopher
Christopher Dove entered law after a period of graduate study and an early return to Kansas. He earned his J.D. from the University of Kansas School of Law in 2003, after completing a master’s degree at the University of Oregon in 1998 and an earlier degree from the University of Kansas in 1996. Those academic steps set a clear path into federal court and private practice.
His first position after law school was a judicial clerkship on the United States District Court for the District of Kansas in 2003. He moved into private firm work the following year, joining Steptoe & Johnson LLP as an associate in 2004. In 2005 he took an associate role at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP. Those years in firm litigation provided courtroom exposure and large-firm practice experience.
In 2009 he shifted to public service as a trial attorney for the United States Department of Justice. That role involved courtroom work at the federal level and a heavier emphasis on government litigation. He returned to private practice and advanced rapidly. By 2012 he was a partner at Warden Grier. He served as of counsel at Shook, Hardy & Bacon LLP in 2014. In 2015 he joined DRZ Law, where he remains on staff.
Dove is admitted to practice in both Kansas and Missouri. He belongs to several professional organizations and maintains active memberships that reflect his trial practice. He has been a member of the American Association for Justice since 2012. Since 2015 he has held memberships in the Kansas Trial Lawyers Association and the Missouri Association of Trial Lawyers. He joined the National Crime Victims Bar Association in 2016. Those affiliations indicate a continuing engagement with trial lawyers’ groups and organizations connected to civil justice and victims’ representation.
Colleagues describe him as a lawyer who built a career one courtroom at a time. His résumé mixes federal clerkship work, government litigation and private-firm trial experience. He has alternated between large national firms and smaller, regional practice settings. That combination has given him experience across a variety of civil litigation settings in state and federal courts.
He currently practices at DRZ Law, handling civil litigation and trial work in Kansas and Missouri.
