About Christopher David
Christopher David Hamilton studied public policy at Western Oregon University before turning to law. He earned a B.S. in Public Policy and Administration in 2007 and completed his J.D. at Willamette University College of Law in 2009. While at Willamette he also earned a Certificate in Dispute Resolution, an early sign of an interest in problem-solving outside the courtroom.
His legal career began at Wiscarson Law, A Professional Corporation, where he worked as a law clerk in 2009 and later returned as a lawyer in 2012. Those early years gave him hands-on experience with client work and courtroom procedure in Oregon. In 2014 he launched a solo practice under his own name, Christopher D. Hamilton, PC, and that same year handled contract work for Hanson & Walgenkim, LLC. He continued with Hanson as a lawyer in 2015 before moving into a period of firm practice.
Hamilton joined McGinty & Belcher, Lawyers, P.C. as an associate in 2017. A year later he became a partner when the firm rebranded to McGinty Belcher & Hamilton, Lawyers, PC. The move marked a shift into leadership roles within a small firm setting and expanded his exposure to estate and elder law matters that would later shape his practice.
In 2022 he opened Willamette Elder Law, PC and serves as the firm’s lawyer and owner. He is admitted to practice in Oregon and before the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon. His bar admissions allow him to handle matters that range from routine estate planning documents to contested probate and court filings in federal district court when required.
Outside the office he has maintained ties to the profession through local and specialty bar groups. He has been a member of the Elder Law Section and the Estate Planning and Administration Section of the Oregon State Bar since 2014. He joined the Marion County Bar Association in 2015 and, earlier in his career, was a member of the Multnomah County Bar Association from 2012 to 2014. He is also listed as a member of the Council of Parent Lawyers and Advocates, a sign of interest in cross-disciplinary issues that affect families and older adults.
Hamilton’s practice centers on issues commonly associated with elder law and estate planning, including probate and administration. He now practices through Willamette Elder Law, PC, where his work covers elder law, estate planning and related matters.
