About Christine Marie
Christine Marie Jurusik earned her law degree at Osgoode Hall after completing a bachelor’s degree in philosophy at the University of Toronto. She moved from a broad academic study of ideas into the practice of law. The transition shaped a methodical approach to legal reasoning and a preference for careful analysis over quick answers.
She is admitted to practice in both Ontario and New York. That dual admission has allowed her to work on matters that cross the Canada–U.S. border and to represent clients whose concerns touch both legal systems. Over the years she has built a practice that responds to the procedural and substantive differences between the two jurisdictions.
Jurusik has spent the bulk of her career at Richards and Jurusik. She is a partner there and works alongside colleagues in the firm’s office. Her day-to-day work involves advising clients, drafting pleadings and submissions, and appearing in court and administrative hearings when required. Colleagues describe her as a careful analyst who prepares files to be litigable and to withstand close scrutiny.
In practice she navigates matters that require understanding of both Ontario and New York law, and she has experience guiding clients through cross-border discovery, jurisdictional questions, and enforcement issues. Her training in philosophy and law combines to inform a practice that values clear argument and logical structure. She contributes to the firm’s case strategy and mentors junior lawyers in practical courtroom preparation and file management.
Outside the courtroom she maintains a professional presence in legal circles and continues to update her knowledge of developments in both jurisdictions. That ongoing engagement helps her advise clients on procedural shifts and emerging issues. She currently practices at Richards and Jurusik and focuses on matters involving Ontario and New York law.
