About Christine
Christine Burnside took her legal education in Chapel Hill, earning a J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law in 2012. She arrived at law school after undergraduate studies and plunged into the rigorous curriculum that UNC offers. The degree provided a foundation in core subjects and courtroom procedure, and it preceded her move into practice in North Carolina.
Soon after graduating, Burnside joined Deuterman Law Group as an associate in 2012. That early appointment placed her in a firm environment where she could apply classroom learning to client work. She spent her first years handling research, drafting pleadings, and participating in client meetings. Those tasks gave her a steady introduction to the day-to-day demands of litigation and client counseling.
Over time she expanded her responsibilities at the firm. Burnside took on more complex assignments and began to appear in court on behalf of clients. Colleagues have described her approach as methodical. She prepares thoroughly and presents arguments plainly. Those qualities have shaped how she manages files and communicates with clients.
Burnside is admitted to practice in North Carolina. She also holds memberships in professional organizations relevant to practicing attorneys, maintaining ties to the legal community through those groups. Participation in meetings and continuing education has been part of how she keeps current on changes in law and procedure.
Clients and co-workers see her as steady in the courtroom and attentive at the desk. She balances case preparation with practical considerations. That balance is part of how she navigates deadlines, client expectations, and courtroom settings. Her work at the firm has included drafting motions, conducting depositions, and negotiating settlements when appropriate.
Outside of casework she has contributed to the internal training and mentoring of newer lawyers at the firm. Burnside takes on the kind of supervisory tasks firms often assign to attorneys who have moved beyond entry-level responsibilities. She also remains engaged in continuing legal education that supports her practice.
Today Christine Burnside remains at Deuterman Law Group. She practices in North Carolina and handles matters for the firm’s clients, managing litigation and client relations as part of the firm’s local practice.
