About Christina

Christina Coleman followed a steady academic path before entering the legal profession. She completed a Bachelor of Arts at Dalhousie University in 1990, earned a Master of Arts from McGill University in 1993 and finished studies at Yale University in 1997. She then returned to formal legal training and received her J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 2007.

After law school, Coleman was admitted to practice in Illinois in 2007 and secured admission to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois the same year. Those early admissions opened the door to federal practice and courtroom work. By 2015 she had taken on a leadership role at RC Immigration Group LLC, where she serves as managing partner.

Her professional memberships reflect the areas where she spends most of her time. She is a current member of the Federal Bar Association and has been involved with the Chicago Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association since 2014. Those affiliations connect her to both trial practitioners and colleagues who focus on immigration matters. Coleman’s position at RC Immigration Group places her at the intersection of private practice and organizational involvement.

Coleman’s work centers on immigration law. She represents individuals and entities before immigration agencies and in federal court when litigation is necessary. That work can include client intake, petition preparation and arguing motions or hearings. Her courtroom admissions to the Northern District of Illinois allow her to bring federal challenges when administrative remedies are exhausted.

Colleagues describe her style as steady and practical. She approaches cases with an eye for procedure and timing; many immigration matters turn on a narrow set of deadlines and evidentiary thresholds. Coleman pays attention to those details and to the different rules that govern administrative filings versus filings in federal court. The result is a practice that moves between paperwork, client counseling and courtroom advocacy.

Outside of client work, she participates in professional forums and continuing legal education through her AILA and Federal Bar Association memberships. Those venues are where practitioners exchange updates on regulations and new case law that affect immigration practice. At RC Immigration Group LLC she oversees case strategy and manages the firm’s response to complex procedural questions.

She currently practices immigration law as managing partner at RC Immigration Group LLC.
