About Christian

Christian Elenbaas earned his law degree from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in 2006 after completing a bachelor’s degree at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale in 2002. He entered the bar armed with classroom training in litigation fundamentals and consumer law topics covered during his studies. Those academic years set a practical foundation for the work he would take on in private practice.

He moved into practice in Illinois and has since worked at DebtStoppers USA as an associate. In that role he has been part of a team that handles consumer-facing matters tied to indebtedness and repayment options. Colleagues describe him as steady and practical in client meetings, preferring direct explanations over technical jargon. He has experience guiding people through the paperwork and negotiations that often accompany efforts to resolve outstanding obligations.

Elenbaas’s practice blends client advising and negotiation. He spends time reviewing account histories, communicating with creditors or their representatives, and explaining the legal and financial implications of different courses of action. His approach is methodical: assemble the facts, outline options, and then pursue the path the client chooses. That routine shapes much of his day-to-day work.

He maintains memberships in both the Illinois Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar. Those affiliations give him access to continuing legal education and professional resources within the state. He attends seminars and trainings that relate to consumer law topics and professional practice standards. Participation in those organizations also keeps him connected to changes in state rules and regulatory developments.

Outside the office he spends limited public time speaking on basic consumer law topics at community events and firm-led outreach. His presentations tend to emphasize clear, practical steps people can take when they face collection pressure or need to understand their options. He is not a frequent author in legal journals, and he keeps a low public profile beyond client work and local events.

As an Illinois-licensed attorney at DebtStoppers USA, Elenbaas focuses his practice on matters related to consumer debt and debt relief in Illinois.
