He earned his Juris Doctor summa cum laude from the University of Alabama School of Law in 2004. This distinguished achievement reflects his dedication and academic excellence. Prior to law school, he obtained a Master of Forestry from Yale University in 1998, which provided him with a strong foundation in environmental issues. His academic journey began with a Bachelor of Arts summa cum laude from Rhodes College in 1995, where he developed his analytical and critical thinking skills. Williams is admitted to practice in all Alabama state courts and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Alabama. His extensive credentials allow him to represent clients effectively across various jurisdictions.

Since 2018, he has been recognized by Chambers USA as a leading practitioner in environmental law. This acknowledgment shows his expertise and influence in the field.
