About Chris

Chris Collins graduated from The George Washington University Law School in 1988. He entered practice at a time when federal courts were starting to see more technology-related disputes. The timing shaped part of his career and interests. Over the years he has built a steady federal litigation practice and remained active in professional organizations tied to computing and law.

Since earning his J.D., Collins has practiced for more than three decades. He is admitted to several federal courts, including the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia, the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, and the United States Court of Claims. He is also admitted to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. Those admissions have allowed him to handle a range of federal matters across jurisdictions.

Collins has been involved in legal communities that intersect with technology. He is a member of the D.C. Computer Law Forum and has served as its president. That role placed him among practitioners who address the legal challenges that arise from changing computer systems and electronic information. He has maintained memberships in other professional groups and participated in forums where litigation and technology meet.

Throughout his career Collins has handled cases requiring federal practice experience and an understanding of procedural and evidentiary questions unique to federal courts. His courtroom work and case management reflect a long tenure in federal litigation and bankruptcy settings. He has worked on matters that require coordination across districts and occasionally at the appellate level, consistent with his admissions to appellate and trial courts.

He is currently of counsel at Vanderpool, Frostick & Nishanian, P.C. there he continues to advise clients on federal matters and bankruptcy-related issues. His practice also involves matters that touch on computing and electronic information, reflecting his ongoing engagement with the D.C. Computer Law Forum. He currently practices at Vanderpool, Frostick & Nishanian, P.C., where his work centers on federal litigation, bankruptcy proceedings and technology-related legal matters.
