About Chinwe N.
Chinwe N. Foster graduated from Ohio State University in 2002 with a bachelor’s degree in criminology and earned her J.D. from Howard University School of Law in 2005. She moved from law school into public defense work, a path that shaped her early professional years and introduced her to the cadence of Georgia courtrooms.
Her first legal position was with the Atlanta Judicial Circuit Public Defender’s Office beginning in 2005. There she handled a steady docket of criminal matters and learned trial practice under pressure. The work required quick legal thinking, frequent courtroom appearances and day-to-day client counseling. It also gave her direct exposure to the mechanics of state criminal procedure and the practical demands of representing people facing serious charges.
In 2011 she took a turn into the classroom as an adjunct professor of criminal justice at ECPI University. The role allowed her to explain legal principles to students preparing for careers in the justice system. It was a brief but focused engagement that kept her connected to legal education while she continued practicing law.
A year later she launched her own practice. In 2012 she became the owner and managing lawyer of Foster Law Office, LLC. Building a practice from scratch required managing both casework and the business side of a law firm. She recruited staff, organized office systems and refined how she managed client matters. Her prior experience in public defense carried over into private practice and informed the services the firm offers.
Foster is a current member of the Georgia State Bar and practices under the laws of Georgia. She operates Foster Law Office, LLC and conducts work out of that firm’s offices. Her professional background is rooted in criminal defense and courtroom advocacy, shaped by years of public defense and subsequent private practice. She continues to represent clients in state court and to advise them through the criminal process.
