About Chinsu

Chinsu Shajan earned her law degree from Rutgers Law School in 2018. She completed a rigorous curriculum and entered practice soon after. The law school years gave her exposure to courtroom procedure and client advocacy, and they set the stage for a practice rooted in litigation.

Licensed to practice in New Jersey, Shajan joined Stark & Stark early in her career. She is based in the firm’s office and handles matters that require courtroom experience and careful case preparation. Her work combines written advocacy and in-person representation. Colleagues describe her as methodical in approach and attentive to procedural detail.

Shajan’s career includes active involvement in professional organizations. She serves on the Board of Governors for the Women Trial Lawyers Caucus of the American Association for Justice. She also maintains memberships in the New Jersey Association for Justice, the New Jersey State Bar Association, and the Mercer County Bar Association. Outside those statewide groups, she is part of the South Asian Bar Association and the Asian Pacific American Lawyers Association of New Jersey. On the local level she has served on the Executive Board and Marketing Committee of the New Jersey Women Lawyers Association.

Her association work spans governance, outreach and committee-level planning. Serving on the Board of Governors and on an executive marketing committee has given her experience in organizing CLE events, coordinating member communications and advising on public-facing initiatives. Those roles have kept her engaged with trial practice issues and with the broader bar’s efforts to support lawyers at different stages of their careers.

Clients and peers encounter an attorney who prioritizes thorough preparation. She approaches cases by building factual records, analyzing procedural posture and considering practical resolution options. That approach informs her courtroom work and the negotiations that often precede trial.

Outside the courtroom, Shajan’s participation in professional groups has included mentoring newer lawyers and contributing to committee projects. She balances firm responsibilities with bar activities, which keeps her connected to developments in state practice and trial procedure. She currently practices at Stark & Stark, where she focuses on litigation and trial work.
