About Cheryl

Cheryl Brikho has built a steady career in immigration law spanning more than two decades. She practiced across state lines and has kept a steady connection to both Ohio and Michigan courts. Her background pairs Midwestern training with a long-standing association with practice in the region.

Brikho earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan in 1990 and took her law degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law in 1993. Those years set the foundation for a practice that has engaged with clients on matters that cross state boundaries and federal processes.

Early in her career she joined Sam Shihab & Associates, a firm known for immigration work. She has worked in that environment alongside other practitioners handling immigration filings and client representation. Over time she maintained membership in the state bars of both Ohio and Michigan. She also holds membership in the American Immigration Lawyers Association, which connects attorneys who practice in immigration and nationality law.

Her practice covers a range of immigration-related matters. She assists clients with visa petitions, status adjustments and applications for relief that arise in administrative and adjudicative settings. She represents individuals and families navigating federal requirements and the documentation those processes demand. She also advises on procedural matters, preparing filings and helping clients understand timelines and options available under the law.

Colleagues describe her as methodical and attentive to case details. She is comfortable working across two state jurisdictions and understands how state and federal procedures interact in immigration matters. Her membership in AILA gives her access to professional resources and continuing legal education tied to immigration practice.

Outside of casework she has continued to engage in professional development and bar activities. She has remained active in the Ohio and Michigan bar communities while maintaining a practice that serves clients in both states. She currently practices immigration law in Ohio and Michigan.
