About Cherissa M.
Cherissa M. Krajniak built her legal foundation through two Midwestern schools before moving into practice in Florida and Illinois. She earned a B.A. from Marquette University in 2007 and completed her J.D. at Florida Coastal School of Law in 2010. Those early academic years set the stage for a career that has moved between private practice and nonprofit clinic work.
Krajniak began practicing as a solo practitioner in 2010. She later joined O Flaherty Law as a senior associate in 2015. In 2016 she opened firms bearing her name, serving as principal of Loire Krajniak Law, LLC and as managing partner of The Krajniak Law Group. Two years later she took on a leadership role at the Legal-Ease Law Clinic as Executive Managing Director and senior lawyer, a position that combines administrative oversight with client service.
Her work history shows steady shifts between building private firms and contributing to community-facing legal services. The move into clinic leadership followed years of handling individual matters and running small-firm operations. Colleagues describe her as someone who balances casework and the practical demands of running a legal office. She has experience managing staff, supervising junior attorneys, and overseeing clinic programs alongside direct representation.
Krajniak is licensed to practice in Florida and Illinois and is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Her professional affiliations reflect a mix of local and national involvement. She has been a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association’s Chicago chapter since 2009, the State Bar of Illinois since 2011, and the American Bar Association since 2015. Locally she holds memberships and leadership roles in Chamber 630 and the DuPage County Bar Association, serving as an ambassador and a board director at Chamber 630 beginning in 2019.
Her portfolio of roles — solo practitioner, senior associate, firm principal, managing partner, and clinic director — gives her a broad view of law practice in both private and nonprofit settings. That experience informs how she approaches cases, trains staff, and designs clinic services. She continues to practice through Loire Krajniak Law, LLC and remains involved with the Legal-Ease Law Clinic, where she handles immigration and related civil matters in both individual and organizational contexts.
Her current practice centers on immigration and related civil matters.
