About Chenicqua Nikki

Chenicqua Nikki Williams combined an interest in communities and the law early in her studies. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in sociology from the University of Michigan–Dearborn, then completed a Master of Arts in Urban and Regional Planning at the University of North Carolina–Asheville. She went on to receive her J.D. from Barry University Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law.

Those academic choices shaped how she approaches problems. Sociology trained her to look for patterns in how people and institutions interact. Urban and regional planning added technical tools for understanding land use, policy and regulatory frameworks. Law school brought the procedural and doctrinal skills she uses every day in practice.

After law school, Williams moved into legal practice where she has applied that interdisciplinary background to client work. She has worked on matters that require translating policy and planning principles into legal strategy. Colleagues describe her as methodical and attentive to context. She tends to break complex issues down into concrete steps and to prioritize clear communication with clients.

Williams maintains professional memberships and stays engaged with peers in bar-related and planning circles. That ongoing involvement keeps her current on developments where law and municipal policy intersect. It also informs how she advises clients who face regulatory challenges or need to understand the practical implications of government decisions.

She is an attorney at Watson Sloane PLLC. At the firm she collaborates with other lawyers on cases and projects that benefit from an understanding of community dynamics and regulatory structure. Her work in the office involves research, client counseling, and drafting documents that reflect both legal requirements and the broader planning context.

Outside of direct client work, Williams pays attention to how legal outcomes affect neighborhoods and public resources. She draws on her planning background when assessing proposals, permits or statutes that have geographic or community impact. That perspective often guides her recommendations and the options she presents to clients.

In practice she balances legal analysis with an eye for policy consequences. She prepares clients for decision points that carry both legal and real-world implications. Her current practice focuses on matters that draw on her legal training and her background in sociology and urban and regional planning.
