About Chelsea Anna
Chelsea Anna Cates moved from the classrooms of Baylor to the legal profession with a clear set of skills. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Professional Writing from Baylor University and completed her J.D. at Baylor Law School in 2018. Those years at Baylor shaped how she writes, analyzes and presents arguments.
Her legal training at Baylor Law School emphasized practical skills alongside doctrine. Course work and clinical experiences sharpened her research and drafting. She left law school in 2018 prepared to translate complex legal issues into plain language for judges and clients alike.
Cates is licensed to practice in Texas and works at Zinda Law Group, PLLC. At the firm she handles matters that require detailed pleadings and precise courtroom filings. Her background in professional writing plays into her day-to-day work: she drafts motions, prepares discovery responses and crafts client correspondence in a concise style.
Colleagues describe her work as meticulous. She pays close attention to procedure and deadlines. That approach matters in state practice where scheduling and forms can determine the course of a case. Clients see straightforward explanations rather than legalese. Opposing counsel see arguments laid out in a clear, orderly fashion.
Outside the office she remains connected to the skills that led her into law. Writing and editing remain part of how she prepares for hearings and presents written submissions. She balances advocacy with an eye for narrative, making sure documents follow a logical thread from fact to legal claim.
Today she continues to practice at Zinda Law Group, PLLC in Texas, where she represents clients in state matters and handles litigation-related work on their behalf.
