About Charlie
Charlie Glanzer earned his law degree from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 1992. He began his legal career soon after, building experience in several Chicago-area firms before taking on leadership of his own practice. He is admitted to practice in Illinois and has been active in state and local bar organizations since the early 1990s.
Early in his career Glanzer held associate positions that exposed him to consumer and bankruptcy matters. In 1996 he worked at Peter Francis Geraci Law L.L.C., and the next year he joined Macey & Chern Law Offices. He continued that trajectory in 2001 as an associate at Daniel G. Lauer & Associates. Those roles gave him repeated courtroom and client-facing experience in creditor-debtor disputes and related consumer matters.
In 2005 he became the managing lawyer at Glanzer & Associates, P.C. That move marked a shift from associate roles into firm leadership. As managing lawyer he took on case management, client intake, and supervision of legal work, while continuing to represent individual clients in bankruptcy proceedings and debt relief matters.
Glanzer’s memberships reflect consistent involvement in the bankruptcy and consumer law community. He has been a member of the Illinois State Bar since 1992. He joined the American Bankruptcy Institute and the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Lawyers in 2009. He also holds membership in the Chicago Bar Association and the Better Business Bureau. These affiliations point to a practice engaged in consumer bankruptcy, debtor representation, and the business aspects of client service.
Colleagues describe him as a lawyer who has kept a steady practice in the Chicago area for decades. His work has largely centered on resolving individual financial disputes, counseling clients on Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 filings, and negotiating with creditors. He has balanced courtroom appearances with the administrative responsibilities that come with running a small firm.
Glanzer remains based at Glanzer & Associates P.C. and maintains an active role in professional organizations. He continues to handle consumer bankruptcy matters and related creditor-debtor issues in Illinois.
