About Charley

Charley Gee grew up between the coast and the city. He learned early how local economies and everyday hazards intersect. That background shaped his choice to study law and to practise in communities along the Oregon and Washington coasts.

He entered the University of Oregon School of Law in 2008 and earned his J.D. in 2010. His legal education emphasized trial practice and civil litigation. Classroom work was balanced by time in local courts, where he watched more experienced lawyers try cases and argue motions.

After law school he joined Swanson, Thomas, Coon & Newton as an associate. The position put him on a steady diet of personal injury files, including automobile collisions, premises claims, and industrial-injury matters. He learned case preparation, deposition technique, and courtroom procedure there. Those early years also taught him how to manage client expectations under pressure.

In 2016 he formed Charley Gee P.C. He took the firm to both coastal and urban markets, keeping offices in Lincoln City and Portland. The move shifted him from employee to principal. It also required handling the business side of practice: staffing, case intake, and the day-to-day demands of running a small firm.

Gee is licensed to practise in Oregon and Washington. He represents clients in both states and appears in state trial courts. His matters typically involve personal injury claims arising from vehicle accidents, slip-and-fall incidents, and work-related injuries. He files claims, pursues negotiations, and brings cases to trial when settlement cannot be reached.

Since 2011 he has been a member of the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association. That affiliation keeps him connected to peer training and statewide developments in civil litigation. He has used those resources to stay current on evidentiary rules and trial advocacy techniques.

Colleagues describe him as practical and direct in client meetings. He prefers clear explanations and measurable objectives. In court he relies on preparation and familiar procedural rhythms rather than showmanship. He balances trial readiness with attempts to resolve cases when doing so serves a client’s interest.

He maintains office presence in Lincoln City and Portland and tries cases in both inland and coastal venues. He represents clients in personal injury matters across Oregon and Washington and continues to handle trial and pretrial work for those cases.
