About Charles Webb

Charles Webb Taylor earned his Juris Doctor from Washington University School of Law in 1991. He entered the legal profession after graduation and built a practice grounded in courtroom work and client representation. His early training at a major law school provided a foundation for both trial procedure and legal research.

Taylor began his public career as an Assistant Public Defender in Missouri in 1994. In that role he handled misdemeanor and felony cases, gaining experience in jury trials, plea negotiations and pretrial litigation. He spent several years representing indigent clients, which gave him steady exposure to contested hearings and courtroom strategy.

In 1998 Taylor moved into private practice as an associate at Ellinger & Associates, P.C. Two years later he became a partner when the firm reorganized as Ellinger & Taylor, P.C. That period of his career marked a transition from an employee to a leadership role in a law firm. In 2003 he opened his own office, practicing as Charles W. Taylor, P.C., and oversaw the business side of running a small firm as well as casework.

By 2011 he was a partner at The Taylor Law Office, P.C. The change reflected another stage in his practice: managing a firm that handled a range of matters and supervised other attorneys. Throughout these moves his work remained anchored in courtroom practice. Colleagues and opposing counsel have encountered him in hearings and trials rather than only in settlement conferences.

Taylor is licensed in Missouri and has maintained a practice there for decades. He has combined public defense experience with private practice to shape a career that includes trial preparation, evidentiary hearings and client counseling. He has navigated both the operational demands of running a firm and the day-to-day responsibilities of litigation.

As of 2026 he is a partner at The Taylor Law Office, P.C., where he continues to represent clients in matters that draw on his trial experience and courtroom skills. His current practice centers on trial work and courtroom advocacy.
