About Charles H.
Charles H. Kee built a legal path that moves from the classroom to the courtroom and then into private practice. He began his academic journey in Portland, graduating from Portland State University in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in economics. He later earned his law degree from St. John’s University School of Law, completing his Juris Doctor in 2011.
After law school, Kee entered public service. In 2011 he joined the District Lawyer of New York as an Assistant District Lawyer. There he handled day-to-day legal work typical of a prosecutor’s office: preparing cases, appearing in court, and working through the procedural and evidentiary steps that each matter requires. The role gave him early exposure to trial practice and courtroom procedure in New York courts.
In 2018 Kee took a step into private practice by founding The Law Office of Charles H. Kee, PLLC. He serves as the firm’s owner and manages its operations. The move to open his own practice allowed him to shift from the institutional environment of a district lawyer’s office to the demands of one-on-one client representation and case management.
Kee maintains several professional affiliations. He is a member of the State Bar of New York and also holds memberships in the New York State Bar Association and the New York City Bar Association. These associations provide a professional network and continuing legal education resources that inform the work he does for clients.
His career path is straightforward: an economics undergraduate degree, a law degree, years of work in a public prosecutor’s office, and then the launch of a private practice. That experience gives him familiarity with New York court procedures and the kinds of filings and hearings common in state courts. Clients who come to his office find an attorney familiar with both the paperwork behind cases and the realities of courtroom appearances.
Kee’s practice is based in New York, and he continues to manage The Law Office of Charles H. Kee, PLLC. He currently directs his practice toward handling legal matters arising in New York state courts.
