About Charlene M.

Charlene M. Williams took the long route into law school and left with a clear credential: a Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore School of Law, awarded in 2004 after she began studies in 2001. She arrived at the courthouse years later with the steady preparation a law degree demands and the practical knowledge to handle the day-to-day demands of legal practice.

After graduation, Williams moved into practice rather than into academia. She built experience across the kinds of tasks most lawyers meet early in their careers: client counseling, case evaluation, drafting motions and pleadings, and the negotiation that often resolves disputes before trial. Those early years shaped how she approaches files today. She learned to organize complex facts, to set priorities for clients, and to communicate clearly under pressure.

Her path led her to Meiselman Helfant & Wills, LLC, where she joined the roster of attorneys serving the firm’s clients. At the firm she has taken responsibility for managing matters from intake through resolution. That work has required courtroom presence at times and careful transactional work at others. Colleagues say she is methodical in preparation and deliberate about next steps. Clients who work with her often see a steady hand during periods of uncertainty.

Williams’s courtroom experience complements her office work. She has prepared witnesses, handled discovery disputes, and appeared for hearings. She is also comfortable in negotiations and in steering settlement talks when a pragmatic outcome is possible. Her practice habit is to balance attention to the legal record with practical considerations that matter to clients.

Outside of casework she is known for clear written advocacy. Her briefs and memoranda prioritize structure and readability. That approach helps judges, opposing counsel, and clients quickly grasp the key issues. Peers describe her writing as concise and organized, aimed at getting to the point without unnecessary detours.

She keeps a steady schedule and applies the same discipline to intake meetings as she does to trial preparation. That consistency has defined her professional rhythm since she earned her law degree. She currently practices at Meiselman Helfant & Wills, LLC, where she handles matters for clients across the firm’s practice areas and manages both litigation and transactional work.
