About Chad
Chad Stavley studied history and law before starting a courtroom career that has spanned public service and private practice. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Texas State University in 1997 and received his J.D. from the University of Miami in 2003. Those early years set the tone for steady work in litigation and trial work.
He began his legal career in public service. In 2003 he joined the Multnomah County District Lawyer's Office as a deputy. The role placed him in court frequently and introduced him to the demands of case preparation, witness work and courtroom procedure. The experience also provided a foundation in managing adversarial proceedings and the logistics of trial practice.
After several years in the public sector he moved to private practice. In 2007 he worked as an associate at Bullivant Houser Bailey. That stint in a larger firm gave him experience handling complex matters and working on teams that balanced heavy caseloads. A year later he opened his own firm. Since 2008 he has operated the Law Office of Chad Stavley, P.C., building a small practice designed around litigation and client representation in contested matters.
Stavley holds licenses in both Oregon and Washington and maintains memberships in several professional organizations. He has been a member of the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association since 2008 and joined the Washington State Bar in 2011. He is also listed as a member of the American Association for Justice beginning in 2015. Those affiliations reflect ongoing engagement with trial practice and continuing legal education across state lines.
Colleagues describe his career as one that moved from public courtroom work into sustained private litigation. Over time he has balanced casework with the administrative responsibilities of running a solo or small firm practice. He has handled matters that required preparation for trial, negotiation with opposing counsel and motion practice in state court settings.
Day to day, Stavley runs his practice out of the Law Office of Chad Stavley, P.C., where he manages case intake, client counseling and litigation strategy. He maintains his bar memberships and keeps an active presence in legal organizations that support trial attorneys. He currently practices law in Oregon and Washington, maintaining a litigation-oriented practice at his firm.
