About Chad M
Chad M Oliver graduated from Southern Illinois University Carbondale, earning his J.D. in 2007 after concentrating in trial advocacy and constitutional law. He arrived at law school intent on practicing in court. Those academic years gave him formal training in courtroom procedure and constitutional issues that would shape the early steps of his career.
His first professional legal position came in a judicial chamber. In 2005 he served as a judicial law clerk for the First Judicial Circuit Court of Illinois. In that role he assisted judges with research, prepared memoranda, and observed the mechanics of trial court decision-making. The clerkship provided an inside view of how judges assess evidence and craft written opinions.
After law school he moved into public defense work. In 2008 he joined the Missouri State Public Defender's System as an assistant public defender. There he represented clients in a range of criminal matters and handled courtroom appearances for both misdemeanors and felony cases. That period established his trial skills and familiarity with Missouri criminal procedure.
In 2013 he became the managing lawyer of The Oliver Law Office LLC. Running a small firm required him to balance client advocacy with the administrative work of a practice. He maintains an office listed under P.O. Box 6511. His caseload has included criminal defense and DUI matters, drawn from his earlier public defense work and his continuing interest in trial practice.
Oliver has maintained steady professional affiliations that reflect his practice areas. He joined the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Missouri Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers in 2008 and remains a member of both. He became a member of the National College of DUI Defense Lawyers in 2013 and later joined the DUI Defense Lawyers Association in 2014. These memberships indicate ongoing engagement with developments in criminal and DUI defense.
Colleagues describe his approach as practical and courtroom-oriented. He emphasizes preparation for trial and attention to constitutional issues that can affect a defendant's case. His early clerkship experience continues to inform how he analyzes motions and written arguments.
He keeps his practice under The Oliver Law Office LLC and continues to represent clients in criminal defense and DUI cases in Missouri. He currently concentrates his practice on criminal defense and DUI matters.
