About Chad
Chad Busch built his legal foundation over more than a decade of study in law and finance. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Finance from Arizona State University in 1985. He then took up legal studies at Western State University College of Law, receiving his J.D. in 1993. Later he completed an LL.M. in Tax at the University of California, San Diego in 1999, adding a specialized credential to his academic record.
His early professional years mixed legal training and large-firm accounting experience. In 1999 he joined KPMG LLP as a senior associate, a role that placed him in a team handling complex tax and advisory assignments. He moved on to PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and by 2003 held the title of director. Those positions gave him sustained exposure to corporate tax issues, compliance work and client counseling across multiple industries.
After years in the accounting world, he moved into private legal practice. He is admitted to practice in California and in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California. His background in finance and his LL.M. in tax inform the matters he takes on. Colleagues and clients encounter an attorney who speaks both the language of tax law and the technical details of accounting practice.
Today he is associated with the Law Office of R. Charles Busch. His caseload includes federal filings and tax-related disputes, along with other business matters that intersect tax and litigation. He draws on decade-long experience at national accounting firms when advising clients about audits, tax planning and disputes that may lead to court proceedings. He maintains memberships in professional associations and keeps abreast of developments in tax regulation and federal practice.
He approaches each matter by pairing technical tax training with practical courtroom and transactional experience from his years in both accounting and law practice. He divides his time between counseling clients on tax compliance and representing them in related federal matters. He practices at the Law Office of R. Charles Busch, handling tax and federal court matters arising from client business needs.
