About Cathleen Marie

Cathleen Marie Bolek is a principal at Bolek Besser Glesius LLC in Cleveland, Ohio. She has been practicing law for over 30 years, focusing on employment law, arbitration and mediation, and civil rights. She was admitted to the Ohio State Bar in 1992. The firm, located at 5885 Landerbrook Drive, Suite 302, handles cases involving employment discrimination, retaliation, and wage disputes across Ohio. She earned her J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 1992 and a B.A. in Political Science from Syracuse University in 1988.

During law school, she clerked for the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association Grievance Committee, representing the Bar Association in the prosecution of grievances. She has also been a member of the Character and Fitness Committee for over ten years, interviewing candidates for the Ohio Bar to determine their fitness to practice law. Most of her caseload involves employment discrimination and retaliation cases, including wage and hour violations. She has experience in both trial and appellate courts. She has successfully settled and tried numerous cases involving employment discrimination, retaliation, and wage disputes. Before founding Bolek Besser Glesius LLC, she was a partner at another Cleveland law firm. She has been recognized as one of the top 25 Women Lawyers in Cleveland and one of the top 50 Women Lawyers in Ohio by Ohio Super Lawyers Magazine.

She has been listed in the Best Lawyers in America every year since 2012 and has received Martindale-Hubbell’s highest rating, “AV Preeminent,” since 2005. She is a founding member and Master of the Bench of the Cleveland Employment Inns of Court, an organization dedicated to promoting collegiality and professionalism in the practice of law. She serves on the Boards of Trustees of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, the Ohio Association for Justice, and the Cleveland Academy of Trial Attorneys. She is the Chair of the Employment Law Section of the Ohio Association for Justice and a frequent lecturer on employment law topics. She is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
