About Catherine

Catherine Henin-Clark earned her law degree from Stetson University College of Law, receiving a J.D. in 1987. Earlier, she completed a Master of Arts in Private Law in 1982. Those academic steps set the stage for a career that has crossed private practice and bar leadership.

She began her legal career as an associate in 1990 at Bogin, Munns & Munns, P.A. Two years later she moved into partnership at Maguire, Voorhis & Wells, PA. The progression was steady and deliberate. In 1996 she joined Holland & Knight as a partner, handling matters that brought her deeper into immigration and related fields.

In 1998 she opened her own firm, Catherine R. Henin-Clark, P.A., taking on the responsibilities of owner and managing attorney. Running a small firm changed the work. It meant more direct client contact and the need to handle both strategy and the daily mechanics of casework.

Her involvement with professional organizations has been long-standing. She has been a member of the Florida Bar since 1987. She served on the Florida Bar’s Certification Committee from 2004 to 2011 and held leadership roles in the Florida Board Certification in Immigration and Nationality Law as vice chair and chair between 2010 and 2011. She is also a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the Paris Bar Association.

Those committee roles required a mix of policy judgment and practical assessment of credentialing standards. They placed her in conversations about what qualification should mean for lawyers practicing immigration law in Florida. The work had an administrative edge, but it also informed how she evaluates cases and trains staff at her firm.

Colleagues describe her approach as pragmatic. She tends to break complex immigration issues into their component parts and map out clear steps for clients. That method is evident in both individual casework and in the occasional administrative or certification matter that reaches beyond day-to-day litigation.

She currently practices immigration and nationality law.
