About Catherine Anne

Catherine Anne Gacquin earned a Bachelor of Arts from the National University of Ireland at Galway before completing her legal studies at Seton Hall University School of Law, where she received her J.D. in 1996. Early in her career she worked in public service as a victim witness advocate in the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office. That experience exposed her to criminal justice procedures and client interaction in high-pressure settings.

After law school Gacquin entered private practice. Her first listed associate position was at Fitzgibbons & Goovaerts in 1996. She joined Dolan & Dolan as a lawyer in 2001 and later practiced at Gruber, Colabella beginning in 2007. In 2010 she became a partner at Hollander, Strelzik, and in 2019 she returned to Dolan & Dolan as a partner. Those moves trace a steady rise through firm ranks and reflect a career spent largely in family and civil practice environments.

Gacquin is licensed to practice in both New Jersey and New York. She also holds a family law mediation certification, which allows her to serve as an impartial mediator in disputes where parties seek an out-of-court resolution. Her background combines courtroom exposure from early public-sector work and litigation roles with alternative dispute resolution training.

Colleagues and opposing counsel describe her as methodical and pragmatic in handling the procedural side of cases. She has handled contested divorce proceedings, child custody and support matters, and related family law disputes. Her mediation credential has placed her in both settlement and evaluative roles, helping parties weigh options short of trial. That mix of litigation and mediation experience informs how she prepares matters for negotiation and for court when necessary.

Over the course of more than two decades in practice, Gacquin has moved between roles that required different balances of advocacy, client counseling and courtroom practice. She has represented clients in contested hearings and also served in capacities that required quiet negotiation. Today she is a partner at Dolan & Dolan, PA, where she continues to practice family law, including divorce, custody, support, and mediation services.
