About Carolyn

Carolyn Goldman is the managing partner of Goldman & Zwillinger PLLC in Scottsdale, Arizona. She has been practicing law for over 30 years, focusing on complex commercial and real estate litigation. Her expertise extends to representing mortgage lenders and servicers in regulatory compliance, particularly concerning the Truth in Lending Act, the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, and the Dodd-Frank Act. She also practices before the Arizona Department of Financial Institutions (AZDFI). Admitted to the State Bar of Arizona in 1995 and the State Bar of Michigan in 1987, Ms. Goldman is also licensed to practice in the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona and the U.S.

District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. She holds a Juris Doctor from Villanova University, earned in 1987, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with honors from Villanova University, completed in 1984. Ms. Goldman has held several leadership roles within the legal community. She served as the immediate past Chair of the Real Property Section of the State Bar of Arizona and continues to serve on its Executive Council. She is a past President and current member of the Board of Directors of the Scottsdale Bar Association. Additionally, she has been appointed by the Superintendent of the AZDFI to the Mortgage Broker Testing Committee and by the Conference of State Bank Supervisors to the Arizona Mortgage Loan Originator Testing Committee.

She holds both Real Estate Broker and Mortgage Broker licenses in Arizona. In her practice, Ms. Goldman provides Arizona Responsible Individual services for mortgage businesses seeking licensing with the AZDFI. She offers guidance on compliance matters, including the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act and Affiliated Business Arrangements. Her firm also assists with licensing procedures and represents entities in regulatory actions taken by the AZDFI or the Arizona Attorney General’s Office. Ms. Goldman is a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association, serving on its Legal Issues and Regulatory Compliance Committee and State Legislative Committee.

She is also a member of the Lorna Lockwood Inns of Court, an organization for attorneys and judges. Her community involvement includes serving on the Board of Directors of the Jewish National Fund in Phoenix and providing pro bono services to the Saguaro State Bull Terrier Club and the Pauite Center.
