About Carolyn (formerly McAlister)
Carolyn Geary, formerly known as Carolyn McAlister, is an attorney based in Gulfport, Mississippi. With over 25 years of legal experience, she specializes in personal injury, criminal defense, family law, and various other legal areas. Admitted to the Mississippi State Bar in 2000 and the Alabama State Bar in 2001, Carolyn has cultivated a diverse and extensive legal career that supports her serving her clients effectively. After earning her Juris Doctor from the University of Mississippi in 2000, Carolyn began her legal journey as a staff attorney for several judges. This role provided her with invaluable insight into the judicial process, enhancing her understanding of courtroom dynamics and legal procedures.
Following her tenure with the judiciary, she transitioned to insurance defense, where she gained a knowledge of how insurance companies operate in personal injury cases. This experience proved crucial in her later practice — This lets the attorney navigate complex negotiations and advocate for her clients. In 2007, Carolyn took on the role of regional manager for the Mississippi Center for Legal Services. During her time there, she focused primarily on family law, further honing her expertise in this critical area. Her work involved representing clients in various family law matters, including custody disputes, divorce proceedings, and domestic violence cases.
This experience solidified her reputation as a knowledgeable and compassionate advocate for families in need. In 2017, Carolyn founded McAlister Law Firm, LLC, in Gulfport, Mississippi. The firm offers many legal services, including personal injury, criminal defense, family law, and estate planning. Under her leadership, the firm has been recognized for its commitment to client service and legal excellence. In 2019, Carolyn was honored with the "Top 10 Attorney Award in Mississippi" by National Family Law Attorneys, Inc., evidence of her dedication and skill in the legal field.
She remains an active member of both the Mississippi State Bar and the Alabama State Bar, maintaining her licenses in both states. Outside of her professional life, Carolyn is deeply committed to her community — She resides in Gulfport with her husband, Mikey Davis, and their son, James. As a dedicated member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Biloxi, she teaches first-grade catechism every Sunday morning. Carolyn’s experience and dedication to her clients have established her as a respected figure in the Gulfport legal community.
