About Caroline E.
Caroline E. Sapp earned her J.D. from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law in 2014 after completing undergraduate and graduate studies at Tennessee Technological University. She finished a B.A. in English Education in 2009 and an M.A. in English in 2011. The sequence charted a move from the classroom and scholarship into the practice of law.
Her law school years were active and varied. She served as editor in chief of the Mental Health and Law and Policy Journal in 2013 and worked as a research assistant for Professor Jodi L. Wilson from 2012 to 2013. In 2012 she interned for the Honorable Bernice B. Donald on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, an experience that exposed her to appellate procedure and judicial decision-making. She also held the secretary role for the International Law Society while at law school.
After law school, Sapp joined professional circles in Tennessee. She has been a member of the Tennessee Bar Association since 2015 and is active in the Nashville Bar Association and the Nashville Bar Journal, contributing as both author and editor. Within the Lawyers’ Association for Women, Marion Griffin Chapter, she has served in several roles, including chair of publicity, technology and social media since 2014, and she co-chaired the Judicial Appointments and Nominations Committee during 2015–2016.
Those positions reflect a mix of legal writing, administrative responsibility and public-facing work. Her editorial roles indicate ongoing engagement with legal scholarship and practice-oriented publications. The judicial internship and bar association work suggest steady involvement in Tennessee’s legal community rather than a single narrow track.
Sapp established the Law Office of Caroline E. Sapp and practices in Tennessee. She manages the office’s operations and provides legal counsel to clients from that base. Colleagues and clients have encountered her through bar association events and through the Nashville Bar Journal, where she has contributed articles and editorial oversight.
Her path — from English teacher training through graduate study, academic research and judicial internship to law practice and bar activity — shows a career built on a combination of writing, research and practical legal work. She currently practices through the Law Office of Caroline E. Sapp, handling legal matters in Tennessee.
