About Carol

Carol Ryder earned her Juris Doctor from Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center in 2008. She arrived at law school after undergraduate work and completed a curriculum that prepared her for trial and appellate practice. The degree marked the start of a professional life centered on courtroom litigation and federal filings.

After law school, Ryder began practicing in New York. Over the years she developed experience handling matters in both state and federal forums. She has represented clients in litigation and in appellate proceedings. Her practice has involved drafting briefs, arguing motions and appearing in hearings across New York courts.

Ryder is admitted to practice in New York and before the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Admission to the Second Circuit allows her to present appeals at the federal appellate level. She maintains the authorizations needed to file and argue in those venues and to handle related filings.

Her work balances trial-level tasks and appellate responsibilities. At the trial level she prepares pleadings, engages in fact development and manages pretrial motion practice. On appeal she focuses on crafting legal arguments, preserving record issues and presenting oral argument when appropriate. Colleagues describe her approach as methodical and attentive to the procedural demands of both trial and appellate dockets.

Ryder has handled matters that required coordination between state and federal procedures. That experience informs how she frames issues for motion practice and for later appellate review. She aims to keep clients informed about schedule pressures, evidentiary thresholds and the realistic timing of resolution when multiple courts are involved.

Outside the courtroom she keeps current on developments in New York and federal appellate law through continuing legal education and professional reading. She is comfortable navigating complex filings and the administrative requirements of appellate courts. Ryder currently practices as a lawyer in New York, handling matters in state and federal courts.
