About Carol
Carol Cadiz earned her law degree from DePaul College of Law in 1993. She entered the profession after a rigorous legal education and moved into practice in Illinois. Early on she built a practice around accident and injury matters, translating classroom training into courtroom work and client representation.
She is admitted to practice in Illinois and is authorized to appear before the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Those admissions have framed much of her litigation career. In 1996 she opened her own practice, founding O Connor Cadiz Accident and Injury Law. She has served as lawyer and owner since that year, carrying the administrative responsibilities of a small firm as well as courtroom duties.
Cadiz’s practice has centered on accident and injury claims. Her firm name reflects that emphasis. She represents individuals who have been hurt in automotive crashes, workplace incidents and other injury-producing events. She handles case preparation, negotiations, filings and hearings, and she has experience taking matters to trial when settlement is not achieved. Colleagues describe her as practical in litigation and attentive to the logistical demands of injury cases.
Outside the office she maintains memberships in professional organizations. She is a current member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association. Since 2011 she has also been listed as a member of Heros and Icons GLM. Those affiliations provide access to continuing education, peer networks and resources relevant to trial practice.
Running a firm requires balancing client work with business tasks. Cadiz manages both sides of that ledger. She oversees case intake and docketing while also supervising legal strategy and client communication. The firm has operated under the O Connor Cadiz name for decades, representing individuals in state and federal matters within the Seventh Circuit’s reach.
Her career spans the period from the mid-1990s into the present. That longevity has meant adapting to changes in court procedures, insurance practices and discovery technology. She continues to represent clients in accident and injury cases and to operate O Connor Cadiz Law in 2026, focusing her practice on obtaining results for injured people.
