About Carla
Carla Grebert built her path to law at the University of Tennessee, where she completed both a B.A. and an M.A., and then earned a J.D. from Nashville School of Law. She took a steady route through higher education, balancing liberal arts and graduate study before choosing law school. The sequence shaped her approach to legal problems and prepared her for work inside Tennessee’s courts.
After law school she served as a judicial law clerk for the Tennessee Court of Appeals in 2020. In that role she worked on legal research and drafting, helping judges prepare opinions and manage complex dockets. The clerkship gave her daily exposure to appellate procedure and to the practical questions that arise when judges decide contested issues.
In 2022 she opened Grebert Law PLLC and began practicing as a lawyer in Tennessee. Establishing a solo practice allowed her to move from an observer’s role in the appellate system to direct client representation. Her work has involved advising clients, handling pleadings and motions, and representing people in state courts. She has built a practice rooted in courtroom work and case preparation.
Grebert’s membership in professional organizations reflects her practice interests and ongoing engagement with the legal community. She is a member of the Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Tennessee Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Nashville Bar Association. Those affiliations provide continuing legal education, peer connections and access to developments in state and national criminal law.
Her academic background, clerkship experience and early years in practice combine to give her familiarity with both trial strategy and appellate issues. She has handled matters that require careful factual development as well as those that raise legal questions suitable for higher courts. Colleagues and clients see her as a lawyer who understands procedural detail and the cadence of courtroom practice.
Grebert lives and works in Tennessee and maintains an active practice through Grebert Law PLLC. She is admitted to practice in Tennessee and continues to represent individuals in criminal defense matters across the state.
She currently concentrates her practice on criminal defense at Grebert Law PLLC.
