About Carla De La

Carla De La Cruz is a Puerto Rico- and Texas-licensed attorney who practices family law at Bogdanowicz Family Law. She speaks Spanish and works with clients on the personal and legal questions that follow family transitions. Her background in psychology found an early echo in her legal work, where interpersonal dynamics often shape the outcome of a case.

De La Cruz completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras, earning a B.A. in psychology in 2005. She went on to obtain her J.D. from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Puerto Rico in 2012. Those academic years gave her both theoretical grounding and practical exposure to issues that frequently arise in domestic relations matters.

After law school, she built her practice around family law and joined Bogdanowicz Family Law as a lawyer. At the firm she represents clients in a range of domestic matters. Her work includes handling divorce proceedings, child custody and support issues, and other family-related disputes. She assists clients through negotiation and, when necessary, in hearings before a judge.

Admitted to practice in Puerto Rico and Texas, De La Cruz navigates two different legal systems and the procedural differences between them. She communicates legal options and possible outcomes in straightforward terms. Clients often cite her ability to explain complex legal concepts in plain language. She also provides support to Spanish-speaking clients who prefer to conduct consultations in their native language.

Outside the courtroom, De La Cruz pays attention to the nonlegal side of family conflict. Her background in psychology informs how she prepares clients for sensitive conversations and helps them understand the potential emotional impacts of litigation or settlement. She maintains professional memberships and remains involved with local legal circles to stay current on developments that affect family law practice.

At Bogdanowicz Family Law she continues to handle family law matters for clients in Puerto Rico and Texas. She currently practices family law, assisting clients with divorce, custody, support, and related domestic matters.
