About Carissa
Carissa Kranz built an unconventional path into the law. She earned a B.A. in journalism-telecommunications from the University of Florida in 2006, then pursued graduate study at Northwestern University, receiving a master’s degree in broadcast journalism in 2010. She completed her legal training at the University of California, Berkeley, taking her J.D. in 2010.
Her early work took her into public service. In 2011 she served as an assistant state lawyer, working as a prosecutor. That courtroom experience was the foundation for a move into private practice. In 2013 she joined Greenberg Traurig, LLP, where she worked for a period before starting her own firm the following year. She founded the Law Offices of Carissa Kranz, PA in 2014.
Kranz is admitted to practice in Florida, New York and the District of Columbia, having gained bar admission in 2011. She is a member of a broad array of professional organizations, including The Florida Bar, The New York Bar, The D.C. Bar, the American Bar Association, the Federal Bar and the Palm Beach County Bar Association. Those memberships reflect both her trial background and her work across multiple jurisdictions.
Her resume mixes public and private sector roles. The prosecutorial post gave her experience in courtroom procedure and case preparation. Time at Greenberg Traurig exposed her to a large firm environment and matters handled at scale. Running her own firm has required her to combine litigation experience, client counseling and case management.
Outside of traditional legal credentials, Kranz holds a Vegan Certification Specialist credential from BevVeg International. That certification is an unusual addition to a legal résumé and signals an interest in the intersection of regulatory, consumer and product-labeling issues, among other matters.
Colleagues and clients describe a practitioner who moves comfortably between trial work and the advisory tasks of running a small firm. She continues to lead the Law Offices of Carissa Kranz, PA, where she manages client matters and oversees the firm’s operations. Her current practice focuses on matters arising from her prosecutorial background and private practice experience.
