About Carissa
Carissa King earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in 2004 from Southwestern Oklahoma State University, where she studied finance and English writing. She went on to complete her Juris Doctor at the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 2011. Those school years established the academic foundation she has relied on through a decade and a half in private practice and service to the Oklahoma legal community.
Her professional career began in the year she graduated law school. In 2011 she joined Tisdal & O Hara, PLLC as an associate lawyer. After five years in that role she moved to Graft & Walraven, PLLC in 2016, continuing to practice as an associate. In 2019 she joined Christensen Law Group, PLLC, where she worked until establishing her own firm in 2023.
The decision to open King Legal, PLLC marked a shift from associate roles to running a small firm. As owner and lawyer she manages the practice side-by-side with client work. Running a firm requires juggling casework, client intake, and the administrative responsibilities that come with being the principal attorney.
Alongside private practice, King has taken on responsibilities tied to the administration of the bar. Since 2017 she has served as an associate examiner for the Oklahoma Board of Bar Examiners. She has also held memberships beginning in 2011 and is a Fellow of the Oklahoma Bar Foundation, a status she has held since the same year she earned her law degree.
Colleagues describe her as steady and pragmatic in the office. She has accumulated practical courtroom and office experience across more than a decade of practice in Oklahoma. That background informs how she handles client matters and manages her firm. Her work reflects a steady progression from entry-level associate to firm founder.
King balances casework with the administrative tasks of leading a small practice. She takes a hands-on approach to client matters and to the day-to-day running of King Legal, PLLC. Her practice is rooted in Oklahoma law and the professional networks she has cultivated since graduating law school.
She is licensed to practice in Oklahoma and remains active in state bar-related activities. Her current practice concentrates on counseling and representation for clients in matters arising under Oklahoma law.
