About Caridad

Caridad Pastor earned her J.D. from New York University School of Law in 1989. She arrived at law school after undergraduate studies in the mid-1980s and left with a degree from one of the nation’s larger law schools. That education set the stage for a practice that would span state and federal courts across the country.

Early in her career she built courtroom experience in a variety of jurisdictions. She is admitted to the bar in New York and Michigan and to numerous federal courts, including the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, the Northern Districts of Indiana and Texas, the Eastern District of Texas, and the District of Maryland. Her federal admissions include the Second, Sixth and D.C. Circuits and the U.S. Supreme Court. Those credentials have supported litigation and appellate work over a multi-decade practice.

By 2000 she was listed as the managing lawyer at Pastor Associates. The listing reflects an early move into firm leadership and case management. Colleagues from that period note a steady caseload that combined courtroom appearances with client counseling. She later established an office under the name Pastor and Associates, where she continues to handle matters that reach federal fora.

Her professional memberships date back several decades. She joined the American Immigration Lawyers Association in 1992 and has maintained that membership since. In 2015 she expanded her organizational involvement, joining the Federal Bar Association and the National Immigration Lawyers Project. Those affiliations place her in professional networks that intersect litigation practice, policy discussions and practitioner training.

Her docket history and court admissions indicate an emphasis on immigration-related litigation and federal-court practice. She has represented clients in district courts and on appeal in circuit courts. That work has required familiarity with both trial procedure and appellate briefing. She also handles matters that require familiarity with state bar rules in more than one jurisdiction.

Colleagues describe a lawyer who combines courtroom experience with steady management of a small firm. Her work ranges from direct client representation to supervising filings across multiple districts. She remains active in professional groups that relate to immigration law and federal practice.

She currently practices at Pastor and Associates and focuses her work on immigration law and federal-court matters.
