About Caraline

Caraline Rickard graduated from Vanderbilt University Law School in 2015 after earning a bachelor’s degree in history and political science from Union University in 2012. She arrived in Nashville with a clear legal education and a habit of close reading. Those classroom years shaped how she approaches facts and argument today.

Early in her career she qualified to practice in Tennessee and in several federal forums. Her admissions include the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. District Courts for the Western, Middle, and Eastern Districts of Tennessee, as well as the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. That range of jurisdictional experience has exposed her to both trial- and appellate-level work.

Rickard practices at Rickard Masker, PLC. She handles matters that proceed in state and federal courts across Tennessee and has appeared in the federal districts listed on her admissions. Her work involves preparing filings, arguing motions, and managing case strategy through to resolution. She is comfortable switching between the procedural demands of trial courts and the briefing standards of appellate panels.

Outside her day-to-day docket she remains active in the professional community. She holds memberships in the American Bar Association, the Tennessee Bar Association, and the Nashville Bar Association. She is also a member of the Marion Griffin Chapter of the Lawyers Association for Women. On a local level she serves on the executive board of the Nashville chapter of the American Constitution Society, where she engages with peers on legal issues and programming.

Her undergraduate studies in history and political science continue to inform her work. That background makes her attentive to context and chronology, and it sharpens questions about how rules developed and why they matter. Colleagues note that her preparation for hearings and briefs reflects that orientation: careful review of record, attention to precedent, and a readiness to explain complex points plainly.

She is based at Rickard Masker, PLC and practices in Tennessee and selected federal courts, including appellate work in the Sixth Circuit and trial-level litigation in the Western, Middle and Eastern Districts of Tennessee and the Eastern District of Michigan. Her current practice concentrates on litigation in those state and federal forums.
