About Cara

Cara Greene earned her J.D. from Fordham University School of Law in 2005. She is admitted to practice in New York and the District of Columbia. Those credentials anchor a professional life spent largely in labor and employment law circles.

Early in her career she gravitated toward workplace legal issues. Over time she developed experience dealing with the routine and knotty questions that arise in employment disputes. Her work addresses matters common to that field, including discrimination claims, wage-and-hour issues and employment contract disputes, as well as the procedural and ethical questions that often accompany litigation and counseling.

Greene is active in bar and professional organizations tied to employment law. She serves on the Executive Board of the New York State Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Law Section and co-chairs its Ethics Sub-Committee. Those roles place her in regular contact with peers who write and review guidance on ethical practices in labor and employment work. She also maintains memberships in the National Employment Law Association, the National Employment Lawyers Association’s New York affiliate, and the Section of Labor and Employment Law of the American Bar Association.

Her involvement in those groups has extended beyond membership. In the NYSBA section she participates in discussions that influence programming and ethics resources for practitioners. She speaks and listens at CLE panels and committee meetings, and brings those conversations back to her everyday practice. The emphasis is practical: how to advise clients, how to comply with evolving rules, and how to approach disputes with professional responsibility in mind.

Colleagues and clients have noted her steadiness on technical points and her willingness to engage on thorny ethical issues. She favors clear analysis and careful preparation. That approach shows in both advisory work and contested matters, where procedure and persuasion matter as much as the substantive law.

Today Greene continues to work in labor and employment law across New York and the District of Columbia. Her current practice centers on employment dispute resolution, ethics counseling for practitioners and litigation strategy in workplace matters.
