About Candace C

Candace C Vanderwall trained first as a business student and then turned to the law. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the University of Oregon, and later took her law degree from Willamette University College of Law, receiving a J.D. in 2013. Those credentials anchored a career built in Oregon state courts and federal immigration practice.

After law school, Vanderwall moved quickly into private practice and into organizational life. She joined the American Immigration Lawyers Association soon after completing her degree and remains a member. In 2013 she founded Vanderwall Immigration and serves as the managing owner. Her firm grew from a solo practice into an office known locally for handling routine and complex immigration filings for people and employers across Oregon.

Her work centers on immigration law in its many everyday settings. She prepares and files petitions and applications for family-based immigration, naturalization forms, and employment-related immigration paperwork. She also represents clients in removal proceedings and other immigration court matters when litigation is necessary. Her practice combines administrative filings before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services with courtroom appearances and client counseling.

Colleagues describe Vanderwall as pragmatic and detail-oriented. She tends to emphasize practical solutions and clear explanations for clients who often face opaque government processes. The clientele at Vanderwall Immigration ranges from families pursuing reunification to small businesses seeking foreign talent. Casework often requires coordination across agencies, careful document preparation, and timely follow-up; those are the daily rhythms of the practice.

Vanderwall balances casework with the managerial tasks of running a small firm. She oversees intake, supervises file management, and handles client communications. Running a practice in a heavily regulated field requires attention to procedural changes and policy shifts; maintaining that operational stability has been part of her role since founding the firm.

Outside of client matters, she participates in the professional community through her AILA membership. That involvement keeps her informed about developments in immigration law and practice. She continues to practice law in Oregon and leads Vanderwall Immigration, where she directs client services in immigration and related matters.

Her current practice centers on representing individuals and employers in immigration proceedings and administrative filings.
