About Camilo
Camilo Valencia is a Texas-licensed attorney who earned his J.D. from Texas Tech University School of Law in 2018. He entered law school after early exposure to legal work and completed his degree on schedule. The education provided a foundation for courtroom work and client advocacy that would shape the next several years of his career.
Valencia’s practical training began while he was still a student. In 2014 he interned at the Law Office of John M. Lozano. He later served as a law clerk at The Hogan Law Office in 2016. Those early roles offered hands-on experience in case preparation, legal research and client intake.
After graduating in 2018, Valencia joined the Law Office of Ben Abbott as an associate. He returned to that firm in 2022 after gaining broader litigation experience elsewhere. In 2020 he worked as a litigation associate at Thomas J. Henry Law, where he handled aspects of contested matters and courtroom procedures. The following year he moved into public-sector work as an Assistant Lawyer General III at Texas Lawyer General. That role added a government-side perspective to his background and expanded his familiarity with state-level processes. In 2023 he became an associate at The Barber Law Office, where he currently practices.
Across these positions, Valencia’s record shows steady movement between private practice and a government role. Each stop brought different responsibilities. Clerking and internships anchored his early development. Associateships in private firms sharpened his litigation skills. The Assistant Lawyer General III position exposed him to institutional processes and the demands of government representation.
Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparation and direct in courtroom settings. He has worked on both pretrial and trial stages and has experience drafting motions, conducting discovery and managing client communications. The mix of private and public experience gives him perspective on how cases progress from intake to resolution.
Valencia is admitted to practice in Texas and has built a practice concentrated on litigation and client representation in state matters. He maintains ties to local legal circles and continues to develop practical skills through active casework. He currently practices as an associate at The Barber Law Office, where his work centers on litigation and representing clients in Texas matters.
