About Callan

Callan Garcia is a Florida lawyer admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. He trained at two established institutions and has combined nonprofit leadership with private practice over a two-decade career. Those moves shaped a practice that crosses state and federal courtrooms.

Garcia earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan in 1997. He later received his Juris Doctor from Florida International University College of Law in 2005. The sequence of degrees and the schools reflect a conventional route into Florida law practice and federal appellate work.

Early in his career Garcia took a management role in the nonprofit sector. In 2006 he served as Managing Lawyer for Catholic Charities Legal Services at the Archdiocese of Miami, Inc. In that post he supervised staff attorneys, handled administrative responsibilities, and directed legal services for clients served by the program. The position required balancing client work with program oversight and community-facing responsibilities.

After several years working in and around public interest law, Garcia moved into private practice. In 2014 he became a partner at Garcia & Miranda, PA. As a partner he has been involved in firm management while also maintaining a caseload. That mix of managerial and courtroom duties defines his practice style.

Over the years Garcia has worked in state and federal settings. He represents clients in Florida courts and has filed matters at the appellate level in the Eleventh Circuit. He has experience handling contested matters and advising clients on procedural and strategic issues. Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparing cases and deliberate in oral argument.

Garcia’s career shows a trajectory from institutional legal services to law firm leadership. He has occupied roles that required supervisory judgment and direct representation. That background informs how he allocates resources at the firm and how he mentors junior lawyers.

He maintains active membership in the Florida bar and practices before the Eleventh Circuit. He is based in Florida and practices with Garcia & Miranda, PA. He currently represents clients in litigation and counseling matters in Florida and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
