About C. Brooks

C. Brooks Cutter earned his Juris Doctor from Stanford University. His time at Stanford set the stage for a career centered on courtroom work and trial advocacy. He left law school intent on practicing as a trial lawyer and built a practice grounded in litigation.

Over the years Cutter has taken on leadership roles in organizations that shape trial practice. He served as president of the Capitol City Trial Lawyers and continues to participate on its board. He also served on the Board of Governors of Consumer Lawyers of California. Those roles have kept him involved in the policies and programs that affect civil litigation in the state.

Cutter is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). He also serves on the faculty of the Spence Trial Lawyers College, where he teaches trial technique to other lawyers. His involvement in these groups places him in regular contact with trial peers and younger advocates seeking practical courtroom skills.

Practice and courtroom work informed his career choices. Cutter’s memberships in plaintiff-oriented bar groups reflect the kinds of cases he has pursued. He has worked on consumer matters and on cases that require courtroom preparation and hands-on trial strategy. Colleagues describe him as someone who prefers practical problem solving and careful preparation over rhetoric.

Beyond trial rooms and classrooms, Cutter has remained active in the lawyer community through local and state organizations. He maintains ongoing ties to the Capitol City Trial Lawyers Association and to statewide consumer law groups. Those connections have translated into regular speaking engagements, mentoring, and participation in continuing legal education programs.

His career path blends practice, teaching, and bar leadership. He draws on the practical skills emphasized at Spence and the standards of advocacy promoted by ABOTA. That combination informs how he approaches cases and how he works with other lawyers and clients.

Cutter currently practices as a trial attorney representing consumers and injured individuals in civil litigation. He continues to combine courtroom work with teaching and organizational leadership in the legal community.
