About Btzalel
Btzalel Hirschhorn trained in two very different legal traditions. He earned a Bachelor of Talmudic Law from Midrash Shmuel in 2008. He then took a more conventional route to the bar, completing a J.D. at the University of Baltimore School of Law in 2012.
He began his professional life in public service. In 2013 he worked as a legislative aide in the New York State Assembly. That role placed him close to the legislative process and the day-to-day work of lawmaking. The experience gave him an early view of how statutes and policy translate into practice.
Hirschhorn moved into private practice the following year. In 2014 he joined Anderson Shen P.C. as an associate lawyer. There he handled matters that required attention to procedural detail and client communication. His time at the firm helped him adapt skills learned in a public office to the demands of client representation.
He is a current member of the New York State Bar and belongs to the American Bankruptcy Institute. Those memberships connect him to colleagues across practice areas and keep him engaged with developments in insolvency and commercial law. He has maintained a New York law license while working in firms that serve local and regional clients.
Hirschhorn now practices at Shiryak, Bowman, Anderson, Gill & Kadochnikov, LLP. At the firm he works on litigation and transactional matters that arise under New York law. Colleagues describe him as methodical in his preparation and willing to press for clarity on factual and legal issues. He approaches each file by breaking problems into discrete tasks and mapping the steps needed to resolve them.
Outside the office his earlier religious and legal studies inform how he structures arguments and organizes research. The Talmudic training emphasizes close textual reading, and the law school curriculum added doctrinal and procedural frameworks. Together they form the foundation of his analytical approach.
He remains active in professional circles through the New York State Bar and the American Bankruptcy Institute, which provide forums for continuing education and networking. He currently practices at Shiryak, Bowman, Anderson, Gill & Kadochnikov, LLP, focusing on matters under New York law and bankruptcy-related issues.
