Bryan William Dawson is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California in 1996 and in Oregon in 1999. He holds California State. His license status in California is currently inactive due to noncompliance with the Continuing Legal Education (CLE) requirements as of July 1, 2025. In Oregon, his license remains active. He has been practicing law for over 27 years, serving clients throughout Oregon.
Mr. Dawson earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law in 1996. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at Claremont McKenna College, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government in 1989. He also holds a Master of Arts degree from the University of Chicago, completed in 1993. During his time at UC Berkeley, he was a member of the Board of Editors for the California Law Review and received an award for advocacy at Boalt Hall in 1994.
Mr. Dawson's practice areas include personal injury, wrongful death, civil rights, patent infringement, employment disputes, and construction defect disputes. He represents both plaintiffs and defendants, providing a comprehensive perspective on legal matters. His practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including discovery, motion practice, arbitration, and appeals. He has taken over 100 cases to trial or arbitration, demonstrating his extensive courtroom experience.
Throughout his career, Mr. Dawson has been admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He has argued cases before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and has extensive trial experience in Oregon Circuit Courts. Prior to founding Dawson Law Group in 1999, he worked as an associate attorney at Cooley Godward in Palo Alto, California, from 1996 to 1999, representing clients such as Sun Microsystems and Cadence Designs. He also interned for Gordon Brown, a Member of Parliament in the U.K., in 1988, and for Representative Ron Wyden in the U.S. House of Representatives in 1987.
Mr. Dawson is an active member of the Oregon State Bar and the Oregon Association of Defense Counsel. He is also a member of the Federal Bar Association and the Multnomah Bar Association. He has been recognized as a Super Lawyer from 2018 to 2025 and holds an AV Preeminent peer review rating from Martindale-Hubbell. He has been rated 10.0 (Superb) on Avvo and received the 2018 Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award from Marquis Who’s Who. In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Dawson is involved in community activities, including coaching high school mock trial teams in Lake Oswego and participating in various outdoor activities such as skiing, hiking, camping, fishing, and cycling.
