About Bryan R
Bryan R Perkins built his path to law through a steady, traditional route. He studied philosophy as an undergraduate, earning a B.A. from Wright State University in 1985. He then went on to the University of Cincinnati College of Law, receiving his J.D. in 1993. That year he moved into practice as a solo practitioner and has maintained a private practice presence since.
Early steps mattered. His liberal arts training in philosophy gave him a habit of close reading and structured argument. Law school sharpened those skills into legal analysis and courtroom technique. He entered practice in 1993 and established his own practice that same year. Over time he secured admission to several appellate forums, including the Sixth Circuit and the Federal Circuit, and he is admitted to practice in Ohio and before the U.S. Supreme Court.
Perkins has handled a range of matters over a long career as a lawyer-owner. He has managed cases at trial and on appeal. His record reflects sustained work in both state and federal settings. He has argued in federal appellate courts and maintained litigation strategies in Ohio courts. The span of venues suggests experience in rules of procedure and appellate briefing across jurisdictions.
Clients and colleagues describe him as a lawyer who prefers clear reasoning over rhetoric. He tends to structure cases around legal principle and precedent. That approach shows up in appellate work where precise citation and logical thread matter. In trial settings he focuses on establishing facts, working through witness credibility, and framing instructions for the jury when appropriate.
Outside the courtroom his practice requires running a small firm. That means combining client intake, legal research, pleadings, and business administration. He handles the practical side of counsel and the detailed work of drafting appellate briefs. Running a solo practice over decades also means adapting to changes in court rules, filing systems, and electronic procedures.
After more than three decades in practice, Perkins continues to operate under the name Bryan R. Perkins, Lawyer at Law. He remains admitted to the Sixth Circuit, the Federal Circuit, the U.S. Supreme Court, and the state courts of Ohio. His current practice centers on litigation and appeals in both state and federal forums.
