About Bruce
Bruce McBrien built an academic foundation that spans business and law. He earned a B.S. from Fairfield University, followed by a J.D. from Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center. He later added an M.B.A. from Wake Forest University, a combination that blends legal training with business discipline.
After law school, McBrien established a career that bridged state and federal practice. He is admitted to the New York bar and is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District. Those credentials have allowed him to handle matters across trial and appellate settings when federal jurisdiction is involved.
Colleagues describe him as methodical and practical. He approaches cases by parsing facts and then aligning those facts with applicable law. His legal work involves courtroom appearances as well as pretrial strategy, drafting pleadings, and negotiating resolutions when appropriate.
McBrien has maintained an active presence in professional organizations. He is a current member of the National Employment Lawyers Association/New York. He also holds memberships in both the Nassau County Bar Association and the Suffolk County Bar Association. Participation in these groups keeps him connected to local developments and the broader employment-law community in New York.
His training in business complements his legal practice. That background often shapes how he frames disputes and advises clients about risk, remedies, and the practical costs of litigation. He draws on both legal research and business analysis when preparing cases for court or settlement discussions.
McBrien’s courtroom work in the Eastern District has involved civil litigation where federal procedures and statutes matter. He is comfortable briefing federal motions and presenting arguments before magistrates and district judges. At the same time, he continues to handle matters that arise under state law and in state courts, drawing on local bar association involvement to stay current.
Outside the courtroom, he contributes to professional discourse through bar association events and continuing legal education programs. Those activities reflect an interest in exchanging developments with peers and in staying attuned to shifting case law and statutory changes.
He currently practices in New York and in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District, where his work centers on employment-related litigation and federal civil matters.
